Jürgen von Wechmar is the owner of Sunset Recording Studios, one of the most famous and respected recording studios in South Africa. While studying Electric/Electronic engineering at Stellenbosch University (1991 1995) he also played guitar for various bands including Ark, Magic Blue Box, Another 48 Hours, 2-Man Acoustical Jam and Arkeology. During this time very little infrastructure was available for up-and-coming original South African bands.
