Our aim in the Magistrate Courts is to uphold and protect the Constitution and the rule of law; and to render accessible, fair, speedy and cost-effective administration of justice, in the interests of a safer and more secure South Africa. To do this, the Department: Promotes constitutional democracy, Provides appropriate legal services and Manages courts and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
