La Madeleine was established in 1984, and has been growing its routes in South Africa for over three decades. Chef-patron Daniel Leusch and his wife Karine first opened La Madeleine in Sunnyside, Pretoria and in 1999, later Chef Leusch decided to move to the beautiful Lynnwood Ridge, where La Madeleine restaurant currently resides. La Madeleine is a commitment to classic French and Belgian tastes in a relaxed environment that sets the mood for a romantic evening, a family dinner or a joyous occasion. At La Madeleine there is no written menu, La Madeleine has decided to rather treat customers to the personal attention of Chef Leusch who visits each table individually to describe the mouthwatering menu of the day. La Madeleine takes its name from the shell-shaped Madeleine biscuit of which French writer Marcel Proust once wrote that it invades the senses with exquisite pleasure. The same is true of this restaurant.
