DM Service Centre is a family business. The company, originally known as DM Truck & Body Repairs was started in 1998 by William Edward Louw, better known in the industry as Billy Louw. He started his career in this industry in 1966. Billy built an impeccable reputation and was well respected by his peers for his knowledge and expertise. After years of running other peoples businesses very successfully he decided to take all his knowledge and experience and put it into a business of his own which he could leave to his son, Gavin. As a teenager Gavin spent lots of his spare time helping out at his fathers places of work gaining invaluable experience and knowledge. After receiving his trade certificate in 1993, Gavin continued to work in the industry and in 1994 he started his own workshop in Kleinmond before moving it to Cape Town.
