The KwaZulu-Natal Poultry Institute is an accredited AgriSeta Education and Training Provider and are also accredited for the national certificate in poultry production, NQF Level 3. This 6 to 8 month qualification covers basic avian biology, all poultry production disciplines as well as risk management modules, elementary human resource management and basic financial skills. Approximately 40 percent of the course is practical and includes visits to working farms, supply and support industries. A minimum of 20 students are required per learnership and funding is sought to support each learnership programme. The Poultry Management Training Centre fills a range of training and mentoring needs in the formal and informal sectors of the South African poultry market. They are situated in KZN.
