The North West Department of Tourism, in partnership with the Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality hosted the District Tourism Lekgotla at the Matlosana Recreation Centre in Klerksdorp, City of Matlosana recently. In attendance were stakeholders from the tourism fraternity which among others included representation from the Office of the MEC, North West Parks & Tourism Board, Tourism South Africa, Tourism Grading Council of South Africa, Tourism Associations from Province, District, Locals, N12 Treasure Route and Vredefort Dome. The prime purpose of the Lekgotla, which differed from the annual normal account, seeks to derive means to develop methods which will enable the provincial department to place systems in an effort to advance the course of sustainable Tourism and elevate its impact on the Socio-Economic scale in the Rural Towns across the province.
