Johan Joubert, owner and founder of JBM Steel started out in the steel business in 1969 He worked at Robor Steel until 1974. He then started freelance work for various steel businesses in the city under the name Joubert Bemarking Marketing hence the name JBM Steel. Only in February 1987 he decided to give it a go and opened my own business Steel.Later on 1987, John bought two bigger lots in Natrium street, where the business is operating from until this day and where the JBM building and offices were erected.In 1991 JBM Steel expanded once more by buying two more lots of 2 300m2 where JBM Castings and Metals are now situated. Two more pieces of land were acquitted in 1994 where a warehouse and factory are located. Another business is renting the rest of the space from JBM Steel.John clearly has a head for business and although he is a very social man, both his businesses are run with an iron fist.
