Dr Moodley completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Natal, graduating MBChB - summa cum laude. After completing internship and community service, he worked in the UK for two years before specialising in Dermatology at King Edward VIII Hospital in Durban. He was admitted as a Fellow of the College of Dermatologists of South Africa in 2010 and has since held registration as a Specialist Dermatologist with the HPCSA. During his post-graduate training, he also worked at St Johns Institute of Dermatology in London. He was awarded the prestigious Janssen Research Foundation Medal in Dermatology for the top candidate in the Dermatology Part 1 examination, and in 2009 he was awarded best presentation at the South African Dermatology Congress for his work on Goltz Syndrome a rare genetic skin disorder.
