Con Amore-School | Primary School -Special Purpose

Con Amore is a school for learners with severe intellectual disabilities and specific learning requirements in Kempton Park. We have 347 learners ranging from 6 to 20 years in our school. These learners are from all over the East Rand in our feeder area namely Kempton Park, Modderfontein, Edenvale, Rabie Ridge, Germiston and parts of Boksburg and Benoni. Special schools like ours are few and far between thus we are obliged to serve such a large feeder area. Our furthest route in Germiston is 85 km in the morning and another 85 km in the afternoon.We have to do a lot of fundraising to raise this shortfall. We need to involve the teachers with our fundraising projects which is not always fair as they are employed for educating.At present we have numerous learners who make use of the transport, but those who cannot afford the transport have reverted to drastic measures of taking their children out of the school.
