In August 1850 Mr FCM Voigt was appointed, by the Educational Department, as a teacher in Franschhoek. The Chapel (where the present church hall is situated) served as the school. In 1899 the school moved to the present site. Our school has a rich academic history. Henk Groenewald and Erina du Toit achieved A-symbols in respectively 8 and 7 subjects in the Senior Certificate examination of 1994. Our diversity can clearly be seen in the sport and cultural activities that we participate in. We are very proud of the achievements that our learners reach every year. Our diligent teachers prepare our learners for the complexities of adult life. Our school aims to develop scholars holistically in order for young people to be prepared for the complex demands of our modern society during and after their school careers.
