In 1964 Elvin Food & Beverages (Elvin) opened for business in the port city of East London. Originally manufacturers of fermented fruit vinegar, demand and opportunity soon lead to the manufacturing of other related categories. Locality and cultural understanding created the development of ready-to-drink fruit beverages and regional maize drinks together with various non-food products.Today, the Elvin family brand produces a wide range of fruit nectar concentrates, dairy fruit blends, lemon juice and vinegars under their own and private label brand owners in local and international markets. Elvin currently supplies in excess of 200 private label items to leading retailers such as Shoprite/Checkers, Spar, Pick 'n Pay, Fruit & Veg City and Boxer.
